Top 10 Questions to ask when hiring someone to live stream your wedding
Are you looking at hiring someone to live stream your wedding day? Your wedding day obviously needs to be perfect, so you want to make sure that you've got all things covered. You might have a heap of questions when you're booking someone to produce your wedding live stream. I am a wedding live stream professional who has been providing wedding live streams for quite some time. Today I am going to share with you the top 10 most commonly asked questions that you should be asking when you're hiring someone to live stream your wedding. I have created this list because these are the exact questions I get asked on a weekly basis.
Can we play any music during our wedding live stream?
The first thing you want to know is, can we play any music? There are a lot of platforms that don't allow you to play any music that you'd like to as there's copyright protection. You want to ensure that on your day you can be listening to the music that you want to listen to. And if you can't do that, you need to know beforehand because otherwise the live video will get taken down after it has started, and you don't want your friends and family to be cut out midway into your wedding video.
Do we get a copy of the wedding live stream after?
The second question you should be asking is, do we get a copy of our wedding live stream after? After the blur of your wedding day has finished, you might want to sit back and watch your wedding ceremony and reception back. You can't do that if you don't have a copy of the video. So be sure to ask if you can get a copy of the wedding live stream afterwards and where that would be viewable. Some suppliers will give you a copy on a USB, some will allow for you to continue to view the wedding live stream on the same link that it is hosted on. But always best to ask.
How can our friends and family watch our wedding live stream?
The next question you should be asking is, how can our friends and family watch our wedding live stream? So this varies from supplier to supplier. Facebook is a common way that people view wedding streams. Facebook is great because it’s really easy to share with your friends and family who have Facebook. There is a couple of downsides to using Facebook however, the first being you have to be a Facebook user to be able to view a Facebook live stream. There are countless ways to watch a live stream though, so be sure to ask that question.
How do you connect to the internet for our wedding live stream?
The next question you should be asking is, how do you connect to the internet for our wedding live stream? Sometimes a supplier might require you to ask the venue if they supply wifi or have cellular coverage. This is just to reassure yourself that you don’t have to worry about your friends and family losing connection to the wedding live stream midway through. Best to put your mind at ease and ask.
Do you need to meet us before our wedding live stream?
The next question you want to ask your wedding live stream provider is, do you need to meet us before your wedding live stream? You are both probably really busy with life let alone trying to plan a wedding as well. You should definitely be asking whether you need to meet with your wedding live stream provider beforehand so you know if you need to schedule some time out to actually meet and ask any further questions that you have. Some suppliers would like to meet you before the wedding day, and some will just be happy with a phone call or a Zoom call, but some don't need any information at all. So best to check this.
During our wedding live stream, will there be a chat/comment feature?
You should be asking if there will be a chat or comment feature that will allow your friends and family to leave comments during your wedding live stream. This can be fun as it’s really nice to be able to see all the comments your friends and family leave on the wedding live stream following your wedding day.
Is there a limitation to how many people can watch our wedding live stream?
Some platforms have limitations on how many people can view wedding live stream’s. You should check with your supplier if this will be an issue or not because you want to make sure that you can have all your friends and family watching and not have anyone cut out or miss out because there was a limitation on how many people could join.
How does payment for our wedding live stream work?
During preparing for your wedding there’s a lot of things going on. You’re trying to keep track of what you have and haven’t paid for and how much everything money is going out. So a good question to ask your wedding live stream supplier is how does payment work? Is there a deposit fee? How much is the deposit? When is the full amount due? and of course how much is it? These are all great questions to be asking.
How will you capture audio during our wedding live stream?
Second to last is, how will you capture audio for our wedding live stream? This is a big one because if the viewers can't hear you, they're not going to have any idea what's going on during your wedding live stream. You want to make sure that your supplier is capturing good audio, and this can be done by connecting into the back of the celebrant/musicians and/or venues speakers or clipping a lapel microphone onto either the groom or the celebrant. Sometimes your supplier might require the details of these people to arrange this.
Is our Wedding Live Stream kept private?
Finally, you should be checking if your wedding live stream is going to be kept private. This not only includes during the live stream itself but also if the supplier is going to be sharing your video afterwards. You probably don’t want the whole world checking in on your wedding day to watch the stream so privacy is a big one. Generally, you will be given a private link and only people with that link are able to join the stream. Your supplier might also ask for permission to share some content after the wedding live stream has concluded but this is for you to decide between yourselves.
